Welcome to ANDREW BARTE | PHOTOGRAPHY

Hello there!

It all started when my uncle gave me his trusty canon 300D with a canon 18-55mm non-IS lens. I never knew after taking a couple of shots that photography would grow on me. Since then, the drive to improve every shot became an addiction. This addiction is such a fulfillment as I share to people the diversified beauty of the world.

The world is beautiful indeed!

Reminiscing Autumn 2011

2011 brought out a lot of fun and new experiences for me and one of which was spending my first Autumn in Japan.

Showa Kinen Park

Showa Kinen Park was established in 1983 as part of a project to commemorate the Golden Jubilee of the Showa Emperor of Japan. With an 11 kilometer bike trail and parking areas in all locations, bicycles may be rented in the park. A small lake is present in the area where mini-boats may be rented. There is also an outdoor barbecue area where families and friends fellowship and have fun. In December the park has an illumination that features Christmas lighting.

Rikugien

Rikugien is a Tokyo metropolitan park located in Bunkyo-ku. The name Rikugi comes from the idea of the six elements in waka poetry and en means garden or park. This place consists of a small pond, trees, and a hill. This traditional Japanese garden within the park is a tourist attraction. This is a place to be whenever you come to Japan.

Mount Fuji

Mount Fuji is the highest mountain in Japan at 3,776.24 m (12,389 ft). It was an active stratovolcano that last erupted in 1707–1708, Mount Fuji lies about 100 kilometres (62 mi) south-west of Tokyo, and can be seen from there on a clear day. Mount Fuji’s exceptionally symmetrical cone, which is snow-capped several months a year, is a well-known symbol of Japan and it is frequently depicted in art and photographs, as well as visited by sightseers and climbers. It is one of Japan’s “Three Holy Mountains” along with Mount Tate and Mount Haku.

Yabusame 2011

Yabusame is a type of mounted archery in traditional Japanese archery. An archer on a running horse shoots three special “turnip-headed” arrows successively at three wooden targets. This style of archery has its origins at the beginning of the Kamakura period. Minamoto no Yoritomo became alarmed at the lack of archery skills his samurai had. He organized yabusame as a form of practice.

Halloween @ Kawasaki

It was a Sunday and got nothing fun to do. Good thing one of my photobuddies called me up for a spontaneous photowalk to Kawasaki’s Grand Halloween Event. What was supposed to be a scary event turned out to be an enjoyable one. Can’t wait for next year’s Halloween!

Old School Meets New School Photowalk

This is a photowalk hosted by 1up2down Photography, participated by more than 200 professional and aspiring amateur photographers from different photography clubs in Cebu. The photowalk started early in the morning of August 13, 2011 in the historic Magellan’s Cross and ended until noon (at least for many). Capturing the emotions of people in the busy urban streets makes you think more about your own life.
